These particular blue-capped tourmalines from the famed Sapo mine in Minas Gerais, Brazil, are among some of the most sought after and desirable tourmaline specimens and are very hard to come by. This specific piece is the nicest example that I have seen on the open market for quite some time. The tourmaline's blue cap is a deep, electric blue with a glassy appearance. The stunning mixture of yellow and red zoning within the crystal, along with a second terminated blue cap crystal, which grows straight into the main crystal's termination, adds to the great deal of visual pleasure displayed by this amazing piece of tourmaline.
