This is, by far, the most unique and original tourmaline specimen that I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Two such specimens exist from this particular discovery. This piece is the larger and better quality of the two. It was along a man's driveway, on his farm in Brazil, where this amazing discovery took place. Pegmatite substances were bubbling out of the ground from this certain area, so he curiously dug a hole for fun. He dug about six feet down and, to his surprise, he found two tourmalines! Can you believe it? The crystal has an appearance of a tourmaline castle, due to its etchings, which surround the entire specimen. Numerous, triangle-shaped "key holes" cover the top of the crystal. The color zones within this piece are too numerous to count. It is impossible to see all of the color zones in the picture, but in person, the colors will dazzle one's eyes. The colors move from green, to blue, to purple, make a smooth transition into a rich, rubellite red, and then continue on to many more zones of purple, blue, and green, once again. Small amounts of yellowish micah make a great addition to an already astonishing tourmaline specimen.
